Sofia is an Argentinian lawyer and fluently speaks Spanish, English, Italian and French. She also holds a License de Droit and a Master de Droit from Sorbonne University. For her master’s thesis she chose to analyse the legal framework of refugees living in European temporary settlements, based on her two-month field study in a Greek refugee camp.

Her professional experiences include the Criminal Law and Judicial Advisory Service of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and she has also been part of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees regional office for Latin America.

She is constantly updating and enriching her knowledge, both from formal institutions and from personal research. She holds certificates of specialisation in relevant disciplines from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, the University of Copenhagen and University College London, among others.

Her areas of expertise include the fields of Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, Conflict and post Conflict Analysis and Radicalisation and Terrorism.
