Federica Casaccio graduated from University Jaume I of Castelló de la Plana, Spain with a MA in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies, a programme affiliated with UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for Peace. She also holds a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, Italy. During her undergraduate studies, she spent one academic semester at University of Zagreb as an exchange student.
Federica has recently completed an internship at Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) in The Hague. Her work focused on SDG 16+ advocacy for the promotion of peaceful, just and inclusive societies and on Peace Education programme support.
Previously, she worked as an intern at Lebanese Alternative Learning (LAL) in Beirut, where she designed and implemented a Conflict Resolution e-course for Lebanese kids and Syrian and Palestinian refugee children.
Based on such experience, she wrote her MA thesis “Alternative Learning in Lebanon: Fostering Youth Empowerment and Peacebuilding through Non-Formal Education”.
Federica’s research interest include peacebuilding and sustainable peace, conflict resolution education, conflict prevention and political ecology.
