Having completed her BA in Modern Languages and European Studies (German and Russian), Eleanor is now studying for an MA in Peace Research and International Relations at the University of Tübingen. At undergrad level, she undertook a 6-month research project whilst studying in Russia which employed qualitative methods to understand the attitudes of Russian students in Voronezh towards immigrants of African descent. More recently, she completed a research design that uses quantitative methods to investigate the relationship between post-Soviet de facto states and Russia.

Eleanor is a researcher with the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research, where she monitors the inter-religious tensions in Sri Lanka. The most recent report heavily focused on the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks committed by the radicalised National Thowheeth Jama'ath and traced further violence and tensions which occurred as a result of the bombings. The role not only includes publishing an annual report using a range of sources in international media, but also inputting information into a database in order to calculate the intensity of the conflicts.

She is also a research and partnerships assistant with Coalition Peace, a start-up organisation in the midst of developing an app for peacebuilding communities around the world to connect and share resources with each other. There, she has mapped Nigeria’s complicated and conflict-ridden political environment and continues to reach out to local organisations and communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to establish partnerships.
